ONE Kingskerswell woman has bagged herself a prize for doing her bit to keep the streets clean as part of Teignbridge Council’s new recycling campaign.
Sylvia Mills was the first monthly winner of Operation Stack, an idea launched with the aim of improving street cleanliness and reducing the number of items blown out of recycling boxes by stacking up their bins.
She was drawn as November’s winner and was awarded with a goody bag which contained a set of recycling wine glasses, leftover cook book and various food waste reducers.
The lucky winner said: ‘I have stacked my recycling boxes for some time already and it came as a nice surprise to be drawn as the winner.
‘I would certainly recommend other residents doing the same and stacking makes things so much easier for our household on collection days.’
Cllr Kevin Lake, the council’s executive for environment services, said: ‘Congratulations to our first monthly winner and thank you also to our residents who are playing a significant role in helping to keep our streets clean by stacking their boxes.’
