OBJECTS that are easily identifiable, but make you look more closely is the theme of a one-man show, Automan, at the Teignmouth TAAG centre from tomorrow for a week.
The exhibition by David Jones is his personal philosophy, strongly influenced by installation art which asks the viewer to interpret what they see.
Mr Jones has put together objects that we will all recognise, but when taken out of context make us look more closely.
He said: ‘Life can be so good, if you can only recognise the good aspects in your life that make for true happiness.
‘You also need to recognise your bad habits that rob you of your energy and peace of mind.
‘You can be happy, stable and at peace only when you conquer your bad habits. You can make your mind your best friend with effort and willpower. You are what you think, and also what you eat. Why not create pure thoughts that make you healthy and happy?’
He added:?‘This exhibition will make you question many things we take for granted, strike a chord with what we know already about man’s behaviour, and even consider whether this is art, or a collection of objects with a message or maybe both.’
He will be available to discuss his work throughout the week between 10am and 5pm.
