A SHALDON mum-of-three has gone under the knife for radical Channel 4 show, 10 Years Younger. Jill Collier, 38, went from feeling grotty to great for the series that aims to take 10 years off using surgery and a glossy makeover. As a holistic therapist and part-time seamstress, Mrs Collier is no stranger to alterations, but said she was genuinely shocked at the transformation. Best friend Sarah Pile, of Tom Thumb boutique, put Mrs Collier on to the idea of starring in the show that includes public humiliation and warts-and-all camera work. Mrs Collier was plonked in front of busy shoppers who had to guess her age before and after the makeover.
l Continued from page 1 'At first people were saying I looked about 46, but some said 53. It was then I felt really grotty and wanted to chase after them,' she said. But after an upper and lower eyelift, botox, top-class dental work and glossy hair and make-up in top London salons, Mrs Collier wowed Covent Garden shoppers who said she looked about 36. Armed with a new wardrobe, Mrs Collier said that she hasn't looked back and feels much more confident. 'I felt like a million dollars and now I feel much more confident with myself and how I look. 'Before I was stuck in a wardrobe rut but now I definitely take more notice of what I wear.' Husband Alec, a BBC cameraman and children Poppy, eight, Jojo, six and three-and-a-half year-old Verity think that mum looks great. 'Poppy has especially been excited about it all. I had to explain to them that I would look a bit bruised but they had fun, even pointing out what colour my bruises were every day.' The show's director fell in love with Shaldon and Teignmouth and the programme shows off much of the village's best features. 'It is great for Shaldon and Teignmouth to be featured in the show and it was really shown off to its very best,' said Mrs Collier.
