A CHARITY day at Kingsteignton Football Club has boosted the funds being raised by a super bike tour this summer.

Alan Lewis, from Kingsteignton lost a kidney to cancer last year. He will soon be riding to nine super bike racing tracks in five days across three different countries, with friend and fellow biker Mark Braund from Torquay, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

At the charity day Kingsteignton under 10s played Ipplepen under 10s, and the current Kingsteignton FC side played the Kingsteignton Youth team from ten years ago.

Alan said: ‘It was a fantastic day with great football and a barbecue. We raised £700 in a short space of time, for Cancer Research UK and also Devon Air Ambulance.

‘It was a brilliant effort by all of the helpers.’
