Seven teams from primary schools in Newton Abbot enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon on Wednesday at Forches Cross organised by the school sports co-ordinators from the neighbouring secondary schools.

The teams played a round robin-style competition which then led them through to a nail-biting final between Wolborough primary School and Kingskerswell for the Newton Abbot Learning Community, and Bradley Barton and Highweek for the Coombeshead Learning Community.

It was a joint first position for both Wolborough and Kingskerswell, whose strengths were equal, and a win for Bradley Barton. All four teams will be competing in the Partnership Final next Wednesday at South Dartmoor Community College, Ashburton.

'A massive thank you to all primary schools who attended and all Year 10 and 11 leaders from Knowles Hill School and Coombeshead College who helped out tremendously and made the event possible,' said Colleen Devincenzi, one of the organisers.
