BIG things are being predicted for a Teignmouth based duo.

The Reigning Days have been described by those in the know as ‘one of the most exciting bands to emerge on the UK rock scene over the past two years’.

The vocalist, guitarist and songwriter is Dan Steer who fronted the highly-rated The Quails a few years ago, and the other member is drummer Joe Sansome.

The group have had a string of acclaimed singles and live shows, and are set to release their debut album Eclipse on Friday, April 13, via Marshall Records.

And they will be appearing live at the Exeter HMV store in Princesshay on the release day to play tracks from the album, and sign copies for fans at 5.30pm.

The band signed with their new label, Marshall Records, last year, and recorded the new album at the legendary Abbey Road studios. They have garnered support from radio DJs and supported top bands at major festivals.

The new album is said to be ‘a colossal sounding, stadium-sized rock debut, reminiscent of Muse, Royal Blood and Biffy Clyro’, and is set to launch the band on to the next level of their career.

Dan Steer said: ‘We each put a piece of our hearts and souls into this record, and to finally be at a point where we can share it with everyone is the best feeling.’

Kerrang Radio’s Alex Baker rated it it as ‘this absolute banger from the guys in Reigning Days which cements them as one of the great promising British bands.’

Teignmouth musician and councillor Pete Williams, said he had always rated The Quails and Dan Steer, and added: ‘The boys have been around for some time now and I think this could be the big breakthrough they deserve. Dan is a superb songwriter.’
