Two Teignbridge businesses have been recognised at an international maritime awards ceremony.

Newton Abbot-based Teignbridge Propellers and Dawlish-headquartered Teignmouth Maritime Services (TMS) both came away with awards at Seawork, the European commercial marine and workboat exhibition and conference that was held in Southampton last month.

The Seawork Awards celebrate innovation in the commercial marine industry.

Teignbridge Propellers won the marine power and propulsion award for its carbon fibre clamp-on blade propeller. The propeller is more efficient and generates less noise and vibration than traditional blades and can be used for commercial, leisure and electric vessels.

TMS came away with the Maritime civils best project award for its Polperro Outfall project.

‘This recognition is a testament to our team's dedication and innovation in the marine and civil engineering sectors,’ a TMS spokesperson said.
