In the boys' 16 and under singles, Matthew ended the excellent run of James Hughes (Ilsington) 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals where he did well against top seed Rhys Williams (Torquay) before going down 6-0, 6-4.
But in the 18 and under doubles, the Torquay Boys' Grammar School pupil continued his impressive record alongside John Ellmer (Ugborough) to take the title with their final defeat of Jake Grinsill and Max Russell (Torquay) 6-2, 6-2. In the girls' 14 and under doubles, Katie came in to partner Katherine Bell (Exeter) and the scratch pair just missed out on a deciding set in the final, where they were beaten by Stephanie Ellmer (Ugborough) and Mia Loye (Torquay) 6-4, 7-5.
In the Kia National Junior Club League, Dawlish were beaten by East Devon TC 4-0 at Sandy Lane on Sunday. The visitors included top prospect Katie Millar, winner of two titles at the Plymouth Junior Open, who defeated Sasha Kershaw 6-1, 6-0. The Dawlish side included Rebecca Squire and Amy Reed.
