Some great prizes were provided for the raffle.

The Brighter Days team won the quiz with a fantastic 105 points.

The evening was a great success raising more than £600.

Brighter Days is a project that Volunteering in Health (ViH) provides and coordinates, the course itself is run by key volunteers.

The focus is to provide a space where those experiencing both physical and mental health issues can come together to talk and connect with each other.

Brighter Days meets every Tuesday from 10.30am to 1.30pm for a cup of tea and biscuits.

This leads to the forming of friendships and in turn a supportive network is created where likeminded individuals can look at positive ways to support their health needs.

One attendee said: ‘Brighter Days is unique there is no place quite like it, we can move from tears to laughter with bucketfuls of humour attached.’

Julia Street, general manager of Volunteering in Health, said: ‘The evening was great fun, and we at ViH are extremely grateful to the Masonic lodge for the tremendous support they provide, to help us deliver much needed adult support groups for our community such as Brighter Days.’

Adam Creasey Worshipful Master said: ‘It was a great event, well supported, and a night in which so many charities benefited.’
