A trio of seagulls released from Teignmouth Promenade parkrun earlier this year have spread their wings on their global migration.

Named after three of the event’s longstanding volunteers, Paul, Jerry and Keith, the model gulls were presented to visitors to the Teignmouth event on May 3. Since then, they have taken flight paths across the globe.

Paul the seagull is currently in Canada. He was picked up by a parkrunner called Chris from Kamloops parkrun in British Columbia. ‘Chris will take him to Toronto and New York and then back to Melbourne in Australia,’ reported Paul Burgess, Teignmouth Promenade parkrun event director.

Paul is hoping his namesake seagull will then make it to Auckland to meet his son Tom Burgess.

Meanwhile, Jerry recently attended the Roma Pineto parkrun in Italy.
