A FEW more parking spaces could soon be provided in the centre of Teignmouth.
When the cop shop was opened in Wellington Street a few years ago, an area opposite was reserved for police vehicles only.
The office has now closed and reverted to a retail shop, but the police spaces are still there.
Many residents, including David Potter, believed it should become public parking again to help relieve the shortage of spaces in the town centre.
He took it up with the police commissioner who appeared to believe it would soon be blended into the limited waiting in the rest of Wellington Street.
A spokesman for Devon County Council, which is responsible for on-street parking, said: ‘We are currently reviewing parking restrictions in Teignmouth, which will include Wellington Street. The proposals from the review will be advertised in the next few months.’
