A LOCAL food bank is £500 better off thanks to annual fundraiser tournement held by a Teignbridge tennis club.

Each year Ilsington and Bickington Tennis Club raise funds for local causes by holding a tournament among their members.

Typically raising £350, this year the club raised £500 for Homeless in Teignbridge Support (HITS).

Eric Felton, chairman of the tennis club, handed over a cheque to David Cox, the chairman of HITS.

David said: ‘We are very grateful to Ilsington and Bickington Tennis Club, and ask you to pass our sincere thanks on to your members.’

HITS heads up a food bank, providing support for people in need throughout Teignbridge.
