A KINGSTEIGNTON woman involved in a traffic collision as a pedestrain has expressed her thanks to all those who helped her.

Pam Knight, 79, was injured in a collision with a Vauxhall car at the top of Queen Street, Newton Abbot, on Tuesday, December 20.

Several passersby rushed to her aid, keeping the former Newton Abbot Hospital worker warm and comfortable while the emergency services were called.

‘I don’t want to make a fuss but I would just like to say thank you to everybody who helped me,’ Pam said.

‘They were all so kind to me, there was a young man who took off his hoodie and wrapped me up and a young, pretty girl, I don’t know who she was, but she came and held my hand – she was so lovely.

‘I just like to say thank you’ Pam said. ‘I have a pain in my neck and leg but I have not broken any bones so I am quite lucky really.’

An avid reader of the Mid-Devon Advertiser, having perused its pages for some 60 years, Pam worked in geriatric unit at Newton Abbot Hospital for 10 years, before going to run a retirement home.

Pam continues to work in the care sector.

‘79 years old and I am still working - I am going back to work tomorrow as it is Christmas Eve!’ Pam said.
