A POPULAR Dartmoor watering hole has become a home-from-home for a duck who thinks he’s a chicken.

Web-footed Sidney – seen here with owner Tom Phillips – is embracing pub culture with a vengeance as he drinks to forget his confused past at Hennock’s Palk Arms.

And he has a new pal with whom he can drown his sorrows... sympathetic Olive, the alehouse’s resident dog.

They can often be seen together in the bar where they share wing and paw space with tolerant regulars.

One said: ‘They are just a typical tippling twosome. They don’t always get on. Only the other night Sidney had a peck at Olive who has been sulking ever since.’

Sidney’s fowl start in life came when he was mischievously placed in a local roost. The upstart’s cuckoo caper was soon spotted – and he was given the pullet.
