UNPREDICTABLE British weather played havoc with this year’s summer horticultural show in Bovey Tracey. The heavens opened and they refused to shut as the poor souls underneath struggled with the relentless rain.
Sadly, gate takings also fell to earth with just £1,300 to show for all the hard work which went into the proceedings.
Some stallholders cried off, but those who turned up made the best of a very damp day at Parke Meadow, and the show can still be judged a successful example of battling the elements in a typical English summer. See a picture report in this week’s Mid-Devon Advertiser, on sale today.
