THEY came from all over the country to cry in Newton Abbot on Saturday.br>And cry at the top of their voices they did as town criers, dressed in splendid regalia, took part in the annual Town Criers' Competition at St Leonard's Clock Tower.br>Winner of the best crier competition was Roy Goodwin (Ilfracombe), with Nick Prideaux (Bodmin) runner-up, and Phil Seddon (Warminster) third.br>The best dressed crier was David Craner (Seaton), best dressed escort Angie Bishop (Frome) and best dressed couple Peter and Joan Dauncey (Melksham).br>The event coincided with a French Market, which was also a success.
