BEER-LOVERS gulped down more than 21,000 pints of the west country’s finest tipples at this year’s Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival.

Thousands of punters from far and wide descended on Newton Abbot for the three-day spectacle which kicked off on Thursday.

Some 300 different beverages from a range of breweries across the region were on offer at the 26th annual event.

A panel of judges had the hard task of picking out some of the best beers up for grabs on Thursday before the festival opened to the public.
