A SOCIAL group set up after it became apparent there were many people feeling isolated and lonely in their own homes, has marked its first birthday.

The Time for Life Teignbridge Social Group meets in the Methodist Church Hall, Teignmouth and celebrated with a glass of bubbly, a Christmas lunch and enjoyed entertainment from the former mayor of Teignmouth, Ian Parkes.

Carols were sung to conclude the celebration and before setting off for home those attending enjoyed a mince pie.
