TOPS Musical Productions are thrilled to be presenting the hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, at the Princess Theatre, Torquay, from tomorrow until Saturday, October 28.

New member to the society, David Pappin, will be strutting his stuff as Tick, a drag artist who persuades two friends to travel with him across the Australian Outback to Alice Springs to reunite with his family.

Sean Caunter will be playing Bernadette, an ex-showgirl performer with a sharp tongue, and the outrageously fun Adam will be brought to life by Miles Le Blanque.

Society regular Gary Abraham, who played Luther Billis in last year’s South Pacific, will be playing the mechanic Bob who joins them on their adventure.

The Divas, who provide the stunning voices to all the well-known pop songs, are Rachel Lake, who last played the outspoken Sally in Me and My Girl, Jo Button who charmed audiences as Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast, and new member of the society Theresa Pappin.

TOPS are pleased to welcome back the same production team that successfully produced The Producers and last year’s critically-acclaimed production of South Pacific.

Joe McNulty retuarns as director and will be joined by TOPS regulars Elaine Johnson as choreographer and Rob Young as musical director. The team promises that Priscilla Queen of the Desert will be another fun-filled, action-packed, outrageous and uplifting musical.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a colourful and heart-warming musical based on the 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Three friends travel across the Australian Outback in a battered old bus they’ve named Priscilla to perform their drag show in Alice Springs.

Along the way they find love and friendship, and encounter prejudice. Packed with high-energy pop numbers including It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Boogie Wonderland and Go West, this musical features some of the most outrageous and colourful costumes ever seen on stage and is a fun-packed show that will have you dancing in the aisles!
