Devon County Council's plans to sell off its residential care homes including those in Newton Abbot, Ashburton and Dawlish, have sparked a political war of words.

The ruling Conservatives have accused Liberal Democrats of scaremongering for claiming the services were being sold on the cheap and that closures could follow.<
