BUDDING singers flocked to a Newton Abbot pub last night in the hope of being snapped up by TV talent show scouts.

Officials from the ITV smash-hit show The Voice were on the look-out for potential contestants in the Market Gate pub.

Hordes of hopeful singers grabbed the microphone and belted out some of their favourite tunes.

Scouts from the show will be setting up shop in The Globe, Chagford, tonight, from 8pm.

Entrants must be aged 16 or over by October 1 2018 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Hopefuls on the show have to out-sing their opponents to be crowned champion and walk away with a record label and £100,000.

The TV favourite, which returns to the small screen next year, features Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am, Welsh singing legend Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and Jennifer Hudson as judges.
