A number of changes to Kingsteignton's traffic arrangements in advance of major new housing and other development projects have been completed this week, Devon County Council revealed.

Crossing facilities for pedestrians and cyclists have been improved at the junction of Old Exeter Road and Chudleigh Road and a puffin crossing installed on Exeter Road at Five Lanes.

The work has been funded with £2.4million from the government's Community Infrastructure Fund, which the council secured in August 2009. The grant has also enabled the authority to bring forward construction of part of the Connect 2 off-road cycle route linking Kingsteignton and Newton Abbot.

The completion of junction improvements and a new toucan crossing on Greenhill Way links a completed section of the route to the north with Hackney Marshes to the south.
