NEWTON Abbot Town Council is preparing to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
On March 26, there will be a chance for the public to sign a birthday card to the Queen in Courtenay Street.
You will be able to sign it between 10am and 1pm with another chance for signing on April 9.
On April 21, Newton Abbot will be burning brightly as three beacons will be lit to commemorate the event.
The beacons will be in Wolborough, Buckland and Highweek with the public invited to attend at 7pm for the lighting set to take place at 7.30pm.
Then on Saturday, June 11, between 10am and 4pm in Courtenay Street, there will be entertainment from the Music Mill and the Newton Abbot Community Transport Association – which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary – will be on hand offering people buses to Courtenay Park on Sunday, June 12, for celebrations which includes a performance from Bay Brass at 2.30pm.
