THE 15th-Century church of St. Winifred formed the backdrop for Manaton’s annual summer show and fair last Saturday (August 9).

Taking place on the church field and village green, and nestling on the south east slopes of Dartmoor, the show offered everything to be expected of a quintessential village show - and a lot more besides.

Classic cars, prize-winning vegetables, tasty treats, along with the inimitable fun dog show and terrier racing were all vying for attention to the visitors who visited the show last weekend.

‘The day went really well and was once again tremendous success with people attending from all over,’ a member of the organising committee said. “Thanks must go to everyone who helped make the event such a success.’
