SQUEEZING more vehicles into the Buckland area of Newton Abbot could not be tolerated without another main access.

That was the warning from Newton Abbot Town Council Planning Committee on Tuesday when it opposed an application by Barratt Homes to build 138 homes at Buckland Barton, most of which is in Haccombe-with-Combe parish.

The proposal included 28 affordable properties, public and private open spaces, a children's play area, vehicular access from Buckland Road, pedestrian and cycle access from Jellicoe Road, landscaping, drainage and associated infrastructure.
