on Friday, John Perriton, 86, was feted in the mayor's parlour at Bitton House as Cllr James McMurray thanked him for 21 years of service to The Children's Society.
Mr Perriton, a resident of Leander Court, was the charity box collection coordinator for St Michael's Church but has stood down and handed over the reins to Niall Duffy, 40 years his junior.
