IT was the dream school outing – a visit to an ice cream maker.

Business students from Trinity School, Teignmouth, learned all about the yummy dessert when they went to Treleavens, Cornwall, a business which mixes rich Cornish cream and milk into luxury ice cream in a variety of flavours.

And they were allowed to sample the products, make their own ice cream, and take it home.

'It was a delicious experience and everybody enjoyed the day,' said a Trinity spokesman.

The youngsters heard about the history of the business from owner Andrew Treleaven, who outlined some of the scrumptious flavours they made, from vanilla, strawberry, toffee and chocolate to the more exotic, such as cheese and pear, and avocado and watercress.

Based in East Looe, Treleavens has won numerous awards and supplies numerous prestigious restaurants such as Rick Stein's and Jamie Oliver's 15.
