THE Dunsford Singers, the Teign Valley’s community choir, are presenting two evenings of music in local churches.

They’ll be performing in Chudleigh Church on Saturday, June 16, and a week later on Saturday, June 23 in Dunsford Church.

Under the baton of dynamic young conductor Tim Pithers, the programme opens with John Rutter’s Requiem and then moves through to choral medleys from the West End musicals Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.

A spokesman for the group said: ‘The singers are privileged to be accompanied on the organ and piano by the internationally-acclaimed recitalist Dr Peter King, organist Emeritus Bath Abbey, who has promised to include the Widor’s majestic Toccata and JS Bach’s sparkling Wir Danken Dir Gott as his solos pieces.’

Both evenings of music begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available on the door from Dandelion in Chudleigh and Dunsford Village Shop; or by phoning 01647 252519.

Proceeds from the concerts will go to Farms for City Children.
