Both were given the all clear after a carbon monoxide alarm was triggered at their home in Longford Lane at 7am.

A woman in her 50s and a teenage boy quit the property once the device screamed into life.

Two fire crews from Newton Abbot also attended the scene where they wore breathing gear to identify the leak with a gas detection monitor.

A spokesman confirmed that carbon monoxide was present in the property, which they duly vented.

The emergency services left any further duty of care with the occupants who were declared fit and well at the location.
