A PEDESTRIAN has been killed in an accident on the A38 today, Sunday.

Police have appealed for witnesses. The Westbund lane was re-opened later in the evening.

Police report: ‘At approximately 12.36hrs on Sunday, 2nd October, police attended a report of an RTC involving a car and a pedestrian on the A38 Dean Prior, Buckfastleigh.

‘The pedestrian was sadly confirmed as deceased.

‘Officers from the Roads Policing Team who attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dash camera footage to contact police, quoting the log number 393 of 2nd October 2022.’

All emergency services were at the scene earlier today.

The A38 was closed Westbound and a diversion in place between the A384 at the Dartbridge Junction to A385 at the Marley Head Junction.

National Highways reported the Westbound lane of the A38 would be closed into the evening.
