MORE than 40 used car batteries have been stolen yet again from Newton Abbot’s recycling centre.

The tally of attacks on the Brunel trading estate site has risen to seven in the last year.

Police have confirmed that £160 worth of old batteries were snatched from the store earlier this week.

The value of each battery is estimated at just £4.

A police spokesman said officers had spoken to staff at the recycling venue about how best to protect the consignment from further attention by thieves.
