A PROMOTIONAL poster project featuring actors from upcoming vampire-based TV production, Immortium, puts the beloved Newton Abbot department store Austins in pride of place, writes Ethan Heppell.

Immortium, an independent vampire series being filmed in the South West, is a collaboration between three production companies: King-Collins Productions, R Noire Productions and Snap Back To Action Productions.

The team behind the production hope to create a series aimed at major broadcasting and streaming services with episodes being around 45 minutes to an hour in length.

The production was recently spotted in Newton Abbot, outside the much-loved department store Austins. The independent department store provided a picturesque backdrop for a photoshoot with the young actors posing in and around the store.

Luke Abbott, writer and director of Immortium, said: ‘The stills photographer Mike Alsford has always been a fan of these old-school style department stores and he has been helping us in terms of publicity.

‘He connected the dots and asked me if I would be interested in partnering with Austins for some photographs and I was keen to give some of the younger cast the opportunity.

‘I was very keen to do it for them as well as Austins but I thought just to give those young actors that step up the ladder on one of their first shoots was really great.’

Austin’s Paul Lewis said: ‘It struck me as being a really good opportunity because we need to attract a younger audience and the demographic for the show is aimed at that younger audience - we were very delighted to be able to work with the production crew on Immortium.’
