CHUDLEIGH Knighton has won back the post office it lost nearly 12 months ago, albeit only part-time.,

Last year, with post offices across the country, it fell victim to the dismantling by Post Office Ltd in closing and franchising out the services.,

With the post office at neighbouring Hennock having previously closed, it left the rural communities feeling cut off.,

Since then, Hennock Parish Council has kept a constant barrage of pressure to try to get the service back, and this week Post Office Ltd announced it is reopening Chudleigh Knighton Post Office from Wednesday, May 30, in the recently refurbished village hall.,

It is providing a hosted outreach service from Chudleigh Post Office, opening for four hours on Wednesday mornings and four hours on Friday afternoons.,
