SEVERAL village halls in Teignbridge are making use of new funding to enhance facilities, support community activities and reduce costs.
Teignbridge Council have supported several village halls to improve their facilities and activities with support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Through the Rural Economy and Communities Fund, the council have contributed towards the new community hall building in Widecombe, and through the Town Centre Improvement Fund supported the ‘cosy cinema’ project at Buckfastleigh.
It has also provided funding to help reduce running costs and improve energy efficiency.
Thanks to its Green Business Grants, more than £80,000 has been allocated to support improvements such as solar panels, upgraded glazing, batteries and air‑conditioning units at: Moretonhampstead Parish Hall; Liverton Village Hall; Teign Valley Community Hall; Ilsington Village Hall and Kingskerswell Community and Leisure Centre
