AFTER a gradual fall in recent years, the number of pupils at Hennock Community Primary School has seen a significant rise in new starters this year.
With the opening of a new foundation unit, which sees the setting now registered for three-11-year-olds, coupled with new starters in almost every year group, the school has welcomed 17 new children already in 2010.
The school has a maximum allowable intake of seven pupils per year group – the average number of new starters in recent years has been around four or five per year. In 2007 there was no new intake.
