A?TOP tourist attraction near Ashburton faces a flood of compensation claims after a sickness bug – confirmed this week as norovirus – forced its closure this week with 600 holidaymakers leaving the site.
More than 90 outbreaks of the notoriously infectious condition have been reported since the noro-type virus flared up at the River Dart Country Park late last week.
Managers closed the 90–acre site on Tuesday as health teams moved in to 'deep clean' the location in the hope of killing the source of the outbreak.
Park managing director Mark Simpson admitted the unprecedented upheaval would 'cause unforeseen disruption'
