NEWTON Abbot's Magpies Pre-school was closed this week after an outbreak of norovirus disease.

The pre-school, which has about 30 children on its books, meets on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings in the Avenue Church.

The norovirus causes vomiting and diarrhoea and can last for some three days, though most people recover in two.
