Volunteers from across Teignbridge will be celebrated next Friday at the second Stars of Teignbridge Awards ceremony.

The event, which takes place at Teignmouth Pavilions on Friday November 7, is organised by Teignbridge Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) to recognise the volunteers and organisations that keep communities in Teignbridge happy and healthy.

More than 400 individuals and organisations were nominated for each of the 14 awards. The award categories include: awareness and appreciation; power; equity and inclusion; collaboration; experimentation; and balance and boundaries.

Last year, the overall winners were Dawlish Community Transport, for their resilience and ingenuity in continuing their operations after a devastating arson attack, and Corony Edwards, for her work in multiple volunteering projects and her ability to make connections and move ideas forward.
