Alan W Partridge, of Gaze Hill, Highweek, Newton Abbot writes:

I am 81 years old and I am very concerned about the United Kingdom’s place in the European Union.

I am not interested in the economic arguments, but I am very interested in the moral argument, the argument which affects our country’s honour.

I lived throughout the London Blitz in the city and was fortunate to survive this event. I saw much death and destruction.

There were many millions of people military, civilians, children, emergency services and supporting services from across the world, who died as a result of the second world war.

These people sacrificed their lives in order the protect the sovereignty of the United Kingdom, among others.

This sovereignty we have given away to the European Union, among which are the very countries who caused the mayhem, with as much care and concern as we would give away a pound of sugar.

In my view every time we stand before a war memorial to the fallen, especially on Remembrance Sunday we all devalue their sacrifice.

I for one wish this United Kingdom to retain its HONOUR and INTEGRITY by remaining outside of this iniquitous European Union.

You will understand that I shall be voting ’OUT’ because this is the only honourable and patriotic action to take.
