RESIDENT warden Linda Horswell, who has looked after the inhabitants of Newhay Close, Dawlish, for nearly five years, is to move on to a new post next week.
Linda, who will be moving to Ipplepen until the spring – when she will take up a new permanent post in Ashburton and Bovey Tracey – was thrown a surprise leaving party at the Hedley Way Centre, Dawlish, last week.
Mrs MacAttee presented Linda with a coloured glass bowl and £100, gifts for which all residents have chipped in.
Linda chose to move to Ashburton as it is a lot closer to her parents, who live in Plymouth, but she said her decision was difficult as she had enjoyed working in Dawlish tremendously.
'I have definitely enjoyed myself thoroughly here. The people are marvellous and have actually given me a great experience,' said Linda.
One resident said Linda would be a hard act to follow.
