AS communities up and down the country gear up to celebrate His Majesty's Coronation, let us remind ourselves what one can look forward to in Hennock.

The following events have all been sponsored by Hennock Parish Council.

► Saturday, May 6

From 7pm until 10pm revellers can enjoy some country dancing at Hennock Village Hall.

All ages are welcome and there will, of course, be refreshments available.

► Sunday, May 7

A morning service at St Mary's Church will take place at 11am.

Hennock Village Hall will open its doors at 12.30pm for a 'Bring and Share' lunch event.

Parishioners are invited to bring a savour or sweet dish to share among company.

The highlight of Sunday's events is surely the King's Coronation Garden Party.

From 3pm at Teign Village Football Field there will be family games, stalls, live music and a Coronation cake 'bake off' competition.

Those looking to attend are encouraged to bring a picnic and share afternoon tea.

It should be mentioned, however, that dogs will not be allowed.

► Monday, May 8

Parishioners are encouraged to lend a hand and give up a few hours out of their day to help a community project in the area.

Hennock Village Hall and Teign Village Social Club will be open from 10am until 12pm.
