Bovey Tracey registered their first win since returning to the Francis Clark Devon Cricket League Premier Division this season when they overturned bottom side Sandford by 70 runs.

Bovey – who suffered the loss of South African star Farhaan Behardien before putting a run on the board – made 203-8 in their 50 overs, with both Pete Bradley and Andy Kingdon hitting half centuries, the pair sharing in a stand of 108 for the fourth wicket.

Kingdon went first for 63, and Bradley was dismissed for 54.

Coupe (4-56) was the best of Sandford's bowlers.

Sandford only had one decent stand in their innings – Matt Theedom (32) and Adrian Small (27) putting on 52 for the third wicket – and with regular strikes by Ryan Bougard (3-14) and Chris Bradley (3-30) they were all out for 133 with more than five overs to go.

The victory sees Bovey third in the table with 99 points, four behind Plympton, who Bovey entertain tomorrow.

Sidmouth, who thumped Bradninch, are top with 136 points.
