Teignbridge Council has done itself absolutely no good in withholding the name of the tax-dodging councillor for two reasons. First, it’s put every one of its Conservative councillors under public suspicion and, second, makes Cllr Christophers a laughing stock when he says that the council publishes all possible data to enhance its transparency (but fails to add, ‘but only when it involves the little people who pay their taxes on time’).

What with the attempted cover up of Nicola Bulbeck’s humongous pay rise and now an attempt to conceal the name of a tax-dodging councillor a very unpleasant smell is starting to come out of Forde House.
