ANGRY Shaldon residents have called on the mystery bidder who this week snapped up the former ferryboat workshop for £200,000 to reveal their identity.

They have also vowed to try and have the building listed as a community asset in an attempt to prevent its commercial redevelopment.

On Tuesday, Teignbridge Council's executive decided to offer the property to the unknown party, their bid being double that tabled by the Shaldon Regatta Association.

Deputy leader Cllr Stuart Barker told the meeting at Forde House, Newton Abbot, that both bids had offered 'a degree of community benefit' but that, in effect, money talked.
