A potentially life-saving defibrillator will be unveiled at Newton Abbot Library tomorrow, December 20, thanks to bake sales by a group of citizen minded young people.

Throughout this summer, the group of 11 young people took part in the National Citizen Service. They set out to raise enough funds to install a defibrillator in Newton Abbot. They decided to donate the defibrillator to Newton Abbot Library, due to its central location.

They worked hard fundraising, which consisted of many bake sales at Newton Abbot Hospital, Alexandra Cinema, The Change Academy and through the High Street.

On Wednesday at 1:30pm the defibrillator will be unveiled at the library where everyone is welcome to attend. The librarians said they are extremely grateful of the donation, and the positive impact the young peoples’ hard work will have on the community.
