AMY Barnett has become Bovey Tracey's Young Citizen of the Year.
The 17-year-old, who was recognised for her work with young and older people in the town, was presented with her award by the outgoing mayor Cllr Martyn Evans at Monday's annual town council meeting in the town hall.
Amy also helps out weekly as a trained leader with the young Rainbow Scouts, helps weekly at Explosions a church youth group, plays her violin in church on Sundays and helps Tracey House residents on Saturdays, playing bingo with them.
There were five runners-up who were each presented with commendation certificates.
