Coombe Valley Local Nature Park, nestling between housing developments in north west Teignmouth, provides a piece of accessible countryside style open space to many residents.

as such, it is well disposed for designation as a Local Nature Reserve – a site of importance for wildlife and people.

Given this, Teignbridge Council Countryside Rangers have consulted various users and local stakeholders with the aim of drafting a plan that manages the site over the next five years.

This initial feedback taken into account, the Rangers are now inviting views on the draft plan before it is put to councillors for formal adoption.

The plans are available at Teignmouth Library, the town council offices, Bitton House and in the Countryside Management section of Teignbridge offices in Forde House, Newton Abbot. Teignbridge has also produced five-page summaries for people to take away or to be posted by the Rangers if you contact them on 01626 215742.

To make comments on the proposals you can contact the Rangers on the same phone number, or e-mail them at [email protected]">[email protected]; by post to Peter Spear, Countryside Management Section, Planning department, Forde House, Newton abbot, TQ12 4XX; or in person to the Rangers, who will be in the barn by the play area at Coombe Valley between 2.30pm and 4pm on February 9 and 12.

The deadline for comments is February 19.
