BOVEY Tracey Bowling Club were involved in their first two competitive matches of the new season this week.
In a ladies triples friendly at Chudleigh, Bovey’s ladies enjoyed a good match but lost by three rinks to one.
At The Den, Teignmouth in a mixed triples friendly the rinks were shared two games each with Bovey taking the win on aggregate by four shots.
The weekend produced two highly successful events in which Bovey members were involved.
On their stall at the Green Man Festival in the town, club members were overwhelmed by the high demand for their various craft and jewellery items, whilst the kids’ tombola proved very popular.
The club open day on Sunday received a similarly enthusiastic response with almost 50 prospective new bowlers of all ages dropping in to try their hand at the sport and sample the delicious cakes on offer.
