NEWTON Abbot Bowling Club is due to have its opening day on Saturday, April 11, and here’s hoping for a sunny day, writes David Pickett.

Many club members have played indoor throughout the winter but from my own experience and speaking to others, most can’t wait to get back on the green.

The green surrounds and clubhouse have been tended to by volunteers to make sure that, come next month, everything is ready to go. Thank you for all who have given up their time.

Good luck to the new men's league captains who have taken up the mantle; Shaun Lynch A-team captain and Simon Boyce B-team captain.

Our men's B and C teams will both be in the same league this coming season so good luck to both on a successful season. Hopefully all the friendlies and tourist games will be well supported and that the club captain will have plenty of people to select for said fixtures.
