HAVING already secured their place in Division Two of the MDL for next season, Bovey Tracey's men finished their schedule with a fine home win against Torquay Belgrave by 12 points to two.

This leaves them in sixth place in the final table and looking for an improvement next year.

Bovey's ladies' South Devon League team gave their hopes of promotion to Division Two a big boost with an excellent win at Dawlish by eight points to two in their final match of the season. They now await the results of matches played elsewhere.

In the men's Over 55s X Division, Bovey's team struggled to find a length at Buckfastleigh on a green which was very heavy despite the recent lack of rainfall.

This resulted in a disappointing loss by eight points to nil and dropped them to fourth in the league table with two matches to play. The Y Division team suffered a similar fate against the division leaders at Abbrook Park, losing by eight points to nil and leaving them in ninth place with two to play.

A mixed rinks friendly at Ottery St Mary resulted in a win for the home team by seven shots with Bovey winning one rink, drawing one and losing two.

Bovey welcomed Starcross for a mixed rinks friendly and emerged winners by thirteen shots, winning two rinks, drawing one and losing one.

A mixed friendly at Sir Francis Drake, Plymouth on a very pleasant afternoon was played as two rinks, one triples and one mixed bag (4 v 3) with Bovey winning two rinks, drawing one and losing one to win by nine shots overall.

In one of the Drawn Pairs semi-finals resulting from the all-day competition, Les Hignett and Heidi Call won by 23 shots to six against Chris Towle and Tyler Smith.
